Cockle-doodle-doo!

So yes. As Jigs commented on the last post, Kauai has roosters. Lots of them. And they have no sense of when it's appropriate to crow. They do it at all hours, daytime and night.

As the story goes, the roosters (and chickens, I suppose) became an island-wide problem after a hurricane, when the winds freed a bunch of roosters/chickens living on farms. Now they've taken over and can be seen wandering around all parts of the island. Here's a pic of them enjoying the sun and breeze near the lounge chairs at the Poi'pu Marriott.

Damn you, roosters!
