Debate - PBS and Howard Style

Man, there's nothing better than watching a Democratic presidential candidate debate that includes D. Kucinich and M. Gravel*. Those two are HI-larious. In fact, if I could choose only 3 candidates to have in the same debate (salad bar style), I'd pick those two and J. Edwards, who actually has some very coherent and sensible points. Sadly, I'm a little underwhelmed by B. Obama, my candidate of choice.

* He really really really wants to end the War on Drugs.

This has been a long time coming.

Summer TV

Since dating Jiggity, my intake of TV has increased by about 400%. Seriously. I never had cable until living with him. And it turns out there's a whole lot o' fun available on his 100-odd channels.

That said, it's hard to find things to watch during the summer months and I'm working hard to get hooked to something new. This weekend, I think I discovered my summer TV addiction: Little People, Big World. Unlike most reality TV programs, this show seems to represent all that is good in the world.

Other loves (shameful as they may be): Girls Next Door and The Simple Life Goes to Camp (sorry, J.Vo). For the record, I hate Flavor of Love Charm School. It's just not the same without Flavor Flave.

Any other recommendations?

I can't wait until Project Runway, Season 4. WOO!

Underlying Message?

I've often wondered about the deeper meanings behind various actions Jiggity and I take in our relationship. One recent occurrence has me stumped. For our 2 year anniversary (6/11/07), we got each other gifts. To be more accurate, Jiggity got me a gift and I quickly wrapped up something I was saving for the next major holiday*. In any case, here's what we got:

Jiggity to J.Po: A lovely stained glass box for holding items such as jewels or laundry quarters.

J.Po to Jiggity: A book entitled "What's Your Poo Telling You?"

So, what does this mean? There must be some meta-message involved in this exchange of goods.

(And, by the way, we enjoyed one another's gifts equally well. And we've been reading a chapter of the book every night before bed.)

(A second "by the way": Jiggity's sister bought the very same book for Jiggity's/sis's dad for father's day without information exchange.)

*His b-day, which falls frighteningly close to Christmas. I prepare all year since I have to come up wtih 2*presents in December.

Celebrity Fit Club!!

I spent my entire evening watching a marathon of Celebrity Fit Club episodes. SO ENTERTAINING! Especially Ross, the intern. So very gay and HI-larious!

I know TOWWAS has the market on feet pix, but I thought this one deserves a wider audience. Guess who those feet belong to! Guess where those feet are photographed! Guess how many pounds of sunscreen were applied to the legs on the left over the course of 4 days!




















And in other news, I'm happy to announce that my over-stimulated mind has finally settled down. I really miss my college buds, and I had one heck of a time over the weekend, but I don't think I have the energy to spend more than a few days at a time with them all in one place. I don't know how we ever slept back in the day. Maybe that was the purpose of the homework, exams and papers - to divert our attention and wear us out. Huh.

Emotional Spectrum!!!

Over the last several days, I've experienced the very very high highs (going to reunion) and the extremely low lows (see next sentence). My sister is being deployed to Iraq in 1.5 weeks. She got 2 weeks notice. So as to not reveal more about myself (and her) than I wish to do on this blog, I won't get into the details of her occupation, etc. But suffice it to say, she's not trained for a war zone. Really.

GWB sux.

Oh yea!

Exhausted.

I'm about half as functional as usual today.

Ugh. I was beaten to a pulp by a headcold this past weekend, which means lots of Girls Next Door and The Simple Life (sorry, J.Vo) ... and no 2nd anniversary trip to the "first date restaurant" for team Jiggity and J.Po (J-squared). Oh well. Such is life. And because I'm getting over this cold now, I'll be in top form for the OAM 10th year reunion - taking place THIS WEEKEND!!!!

Food Eaten Outdoors is 10x Yummier Than Food Eaten Inside

So the best thing about the Memorial Day weekend camping trip was the grub. Hands down. People really stepped up and we had fantastic meals including pita pizzas, hobo packets and sausage, cottage cheese pancakes and charizo burritos (the most photogenic and sloppy of the bunch). Jiggity dug in fingers first for this one....giving his digits a much-needed bath. Mmmmm......charizo.

Whenever some big event happens - like a camping trip - I always say I'll post pics, and I then forget to do so. Well not this time! This time I'm going to let the picture fest trail on for days.

We'll start with this photo - one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen - taken during the drive down to Arroyo Seco. Like dude, why does this GIANT GAS-GUZZLING vehicle need an extra carrier for more gear? ...and extra carrier that is comparatively SO SO TINY!!! Ridiculous. What's even more ridiculous is that it had its own license plate. I hope you can't read it. That's just bad blogging etiquette.
