Something I've learned in my 28-odd years of living is that you can never get everything you need from one person. Never. It's impossible. One must seek many sources, many people, many friends, many places, many muses, many poets, writters, and musicians to patch together a web of support and inspiration and love to see you through it all.

And in the world of relationships, it's a matter of deciding what is essential in your other - what you need from them so that you feel secure and challenged to discover the rest elsewhere.

These essentials - do they change as we change? Or have they always been there waiting to be realized?
